Cascade Summer Shootout 2026 Girls Rules and Format
All games will be governed by USA Lacrosse and NFHS rules as they apply to each age division, with the following tournament-specific modifications. These rules will be strictly enforced.
Game Format
Game Length: Two 22-minute halves, running clock.
Halftime: 3 minutes.
Between Games: 3 minutes.
Teams should be warmed up and ready to begin immediately following the previous game.
Timeouts
No timeouts are permitted.
The game clock continues to run during injury timeouts.
Officials may add time at their discretion in unique circumstances.
End of Period
If an 8-meter shot has been awarded before the horn sounds, it will be completed.
If the 8-meter is already in progress when the horn sounds, the game ends immediately at the horn.
If a shot is released before the horn and enters the goal after the horn, the goal counts.
Alternate Possession
The team listed first on the schedule receives the opening alternate possession.
Alternate possession then alternates throughout the game.
The team listed second on the schedule chooses which end of the field to defend.
Cards & Discipline
Yellow Card (1st)
Player serves a 2-minute running-clock penalty.
Officials will keep card time on the field.
Yellow Card (2nd)
Player is ejected for the remainder of the game.
Eligible to return for the next game.
Red Card – Player
Player is ejected for the remainder of the current game and the following game.
Red Card – Coach
Coach must leave the playing area immediately and remain away until the game has concluded.
Additional suspension from future games is at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

U10 (2034/35 Girls)
12v12 full field.
Modified checking.
3-second closely guarded rule is enforced.
No minimum pass rule.
No 4-goal rule.
U12 (2032/33 Girls)
Transitional checking.
No minimum pass rule.
No 4-goal rule.
U14 (2030/31 Girls)
Full checking.
No 4-goal rule.
Seeding & Tiebreakers
Playoff seeding will be determined in the following order:
Win/Loss Record
Head-to-Head
Fewest Goals Allowed
Goal Differential
Most Goals Scored
Coin Flip
If 3 or More Teams are Tied
Head-to-head is eliminated.
Tiebreakers become:
Fewest Goals Allowed
Goal Differential
Most Goals Scored
Coin Flip
Playoff Overtime
Sudden Victory format.
First team to score wins.
Teams will play 3 field players plus a goalie (3v3).
Teams begin with:
One player on the draw.
Two players on the restraining circle.
No offsides.
On-the-fly substitutions are permitted.
Alternate possession continues from regulation and does not reset.
Teams attack the same goal they were attacking at the end of regulation.
Any remaining card time from regulation carries over into overtime.
