Sixes Showdown 2026 Rules and Format

Games will be played in the Sixes field format, using the shortened field dimensions of US Olympic Sixes. These rules will be strictly enforced.

Game Format

Games are played in two 16-minute running halves.

Each team plays 5 field players and 1 goalie.

Draws and face-offs occur only at the start of each half.

Goalies initiate play after goals are scored.

Style of Play

Goalies cannot cross the midline unless one teammate is back.

All 5 field players play both sides of the field (offense and defense), with substitutions made on the fly.

An on-field 30-second shot clock, kept by the officials’ timer, begins at the start of each possession.

Stick checks and body checks are played in accordance with US Lacrosse rules within a Sixes format.
